Axia’s prime example of creating inclusion through connectivity is the Alberta SuperNet, being built for the provincial government of Alberta. Scheduled for completion in 2004, Alberta SuperNet is a high speed, high capacity network linking 4,700 government facilities and libraries in 422 communities throughout the province. It’s a pathway for government, educators and health care workers to share and deliver great amounts and more complex types of information and services province-wide, faster than every before. It also allows telecom companies and Internet Service Providers to take advantage of the network, letting them deliver high speed service to rural areas that until now have been too expensive or difficult to reach.
