Axia NetMedia Corporation (AXX-TSE) today announced that Axia CitizenConnect Ltd, a subsidiary of Axia has signed a three year enterprise contract with the Scottish University for Industry (SUfI) worth $1.2m (£510,00).

The original contract was announced in August of last year and was for the development of an Internet-based personal development package called learndirectscotland-futures. The new contract reflects SUfI’s decision to sign an enterprise licensing agreement, giving SUfI use of the application over the next three years and allows them to make the application available free of charge through its network of learning centres.

learndirectScotland-futures uses the power of the internet to deliver interactive diagnostic tools that help people to identify what kind of work and learning suits them best. It also offers regularly updated information about courses and job qualifications, and includes training exercises that help individuals to sharpen their job-hunting skills.

Sandy Smith, SUfI’s Learning Information Manager says "Our aim has always been to offer an holistic approach to learners using our learning centres, learndirectscotland-futures is seen as a key component in enabling learners to identify the most appropriate way of meeting their learning objectives.

"We’re delighted that SufI have decided to extend access to learndirectscotland- futures to such a significant number of Scots. This initiative by SufI will assist many people in achieving their personal goals and ambitions whilst generally improving the collective prospects of the Scottish workforce. The ability to use learndirectscotland-futures will be particularly important in remote areas and socially disadvantaged communities where access to learning and careers advice can be difficult. Axia CitizenConnect are delighted to be working with such a committed and visionary partner on such a socially innovative and worthwhile project which is at the heart of our strategic objectives " says Steve Walker, Axia CitizenConnect’s Managing Director.
